Echoes Of Us

A handsome African-American man wearing a tan sweater is emotional as he reaches for a beautiful African-American woman wearing a sheer blouse. The woman has silver locs in her hair and has teardrops running down her face from her crying as she reaches back for the man. The are surrounded by pink, grey, and blue clouds which appear to be engulfing them and pulling the couple away from each other.

In the realm where beauty found its home,

Our discovery, enchanting and full-blown.

A lightning chemistry, a thirsting lust,

A fire ignited when our souls trust.

Aligned we were, flames dancing high,

But in parting, those flames would sigh.

The impossible became possible, it’s true,

Only when there’s me and there’s you.

Yet, as we navigated paths grown apart,

My promise to you, a breaking heart.

My soul torn in two, a painful art,

For without you, there’s no separate part.

I vowed to strive, our love to mend,

A teardrop fell, love’s silent friend.

Watching fondness wither and wend,

A poignant tale of how love can bend.

Questions linger, pry they might,

Why our union took its flight.

With every query, a piece of me dies,

Unanswered, closure denies.

What we had, a beauty untold,

Your peace, your soul, treasures to hold.

Deserving to grow, this love of old,

My heart, forever in your hold.
